Access to the use of Cornell University's Image Collections (images, text files, and data) on this site are subject to the following terms and conditions:
1. This site was created for educational and non-commercial use only. Copyrights on all images presented on this site are either held by Cornell University or the artists (and/or their representatives). For example, some works may be under copyright by the creator, the creator's heirs, or others holding rights to these works. In other cases, slides have been scanned to create digital files, and copyright is held by the various vendors who provide these materials. Such works may not be used in any form; they may not be copied or downloaded without prior permission from the holder of the underlying copyright.
2. In an effort to responsibly, and legally, present the images, larger image files are only presented on works where copyright is not in question. Under "fair use" guidelines, only thumbnail images are available for works in copyright. When selecting an image to view in the "Image Workspace," a red X or broken icon will appear when the image is in copyright.
3. We do encourage visitors to utilize the images and data for scholarly endeavors, but ask that they contact the particular department at Cornell University to secure permission. It is our goal to make these materials available while being able to track how and where images are being used.
